A part of me wants to take screenshots of all the people praising She-ra and The Dragon Prince to the high heavens while ragging on Voltron. Then when She-ra and TDP fails to meet their crazy expectations or don’t go the way they want, and they start ragging on them. Pull up the screenshots and compare and contrast their reactions.

And yea. Ppl are hopeful based on the promises of the creators. If they fail to meet those promises (like the voltron ppl) then its the fault of the creators.

Have you been paying attention to what people in fandom do these past few years?

They will praise a show and it’s creators, claiming a work is the most progressive, most woke, and most important thing ever, sometimes based on the flimsiest of reasons. Often not even based on anything the creators actually showed or said, but on the viewers own theories and headcanons they’re sure of 100% true(again based on the flimsiest of reasons or based on nothing at all) And then when the creators failed to live up to those expectations, fail to make those theories canon, or just takes the story in a different direction than the view wants. The viewer throws the biggest tempter tantrum and attack and harass the creator.

Look at how fandom has treated Rebecca Sugar. Look at how fandom has treated Bex. Both LGBT women pushing for greater LGBT representation in children’s media. Both harassed and threatened by fans when reality did not meet the fans insane expectations.

With that pattern in mind I fully expect these people currently praising TDP and She-ra to turn on both the show and the creators eventually. Not for anything they actually do. Just failing to meet crazy high and impossible to reach standards these fans set on creators. To these people, failing to be absolutely perfect is the exact same as being the absolute worst human being ever.

And here’s something for you to think about. The people shitting on Voltron. They’re also shitting on people who just want to be happy and still enjoy Voltron. By your definition doesn’t that make them shitty and disgusting people. If you’re not  gross entitled brat you should be able praise and be happy about one thing, without bad mouthing and shitting on another thing.  If you can’t that says a lot more about you as a person than it does
me. Trying to build one thing up by tearing another thing down is a pretty awful thing to do.

Bi lance was a fan idea because someone asked Jeremy if Lance’s milkshake brought all the boys to the yard, he was put in a werid spot and just jokingly said yes. So all the crazy fans and that dumb reporter started claiming that Lance was in fact bi, when he had only show interest in women. He was however ignored when he claimed kl were brotherly and later when he flat out said that Lance was NOT bi to the reporters face.

Then people called him names for “shitting on the feelings of bi people”. The same people who called his neice a klance baby, called his relationships less cute than klance, spammed his social media with kl kl kl.

Then we had pakistani Adam. It started because leakira, the dumb as shit au happened and decided to reimagine Adam as pakistani. So people started claiming Adam was a gay Muslim who was killed off in canon. When canonically he wasn’t muslim at all. It was only meant to shit on the creators more.

The creators never said, we’d have gay rep. They said they were fighting for it. We got explicit Zethrid/Ezor because they were girls and minor characters, yes f/f is easily overlooked and allowed to pass because its f/f. The history of rep in kid’s media is proof that f/f is acceptable but m/m is not.

Also just a point, people don’t suck face or bang when they are breaking up. Just something you should know incase you feel that the breakup wasn’t gay enough.

Also about the claim of all the bad things happening to lgbt people? Krolia had to leave her family, husband died, has a m/f relationship. Haggar and Zarkon, one is dead and actually pretty much lost his beloved for him he pretty much died 10,000 years ago. Lotor and Allura, he betrayed her, Lance and Allura, Colleen and Sam, Hunk’s parents. Seriously bad shit has happened to all straight relationships in the show.

Also don’t even get me started on the whole Blaytz and the Galra servant bullshit, people grow old and die you know. They happened 10,000 years ago. Lgbt are nit immortal. I would know.

So no, these “promises” were never made by the writers, you guys had headcanons that you forced onto the show and then tried to force onto the creators and when they didn’t give you all more than a passing glance started hurling threats of death, rape, injury and more at them.

so that’s where the muslim Adam nonsense came from
